About Woodlands Lodge Hotel

A restaurant with a strong reputation for hearty, well-cooked food is at the heart of Woodlands Lodge Hotel, backed up by a bar and a breakfast spread that guests consistently rate as one of the highlights of a stay. Room service and kids' meals are also available, making it as workable for families as for couples passing through.

The hotel itself has 17 rooms, each en-suite, with family rooms available for those travelling with children. The garden and outdoor seating area add a relaxed spot to unwind, while meeting rooms and a bridal suite mean the property doubles as a wedding and events venue. Free WiFi and free on-site parking are included, and pets are welcome. It's worth noting that some visitors have found the odd amenity not working as it should, so it may be sensible to check specifics on booking.

Set on Bartley Road in Southampton, the hotel benefits from direct access to the New Forest, with walking and cycling routes on the doorstep and horse riding, fishing and golf all nearby. A handful of pubs and restaurants in the surrounding area add further options for evenings out beyond the hotel's own dining room.

We booked on the 22nd May for three nights for my 60th Birthday. We could only stay one night as there was no hot water, as it was a bank holiday we were not offered another room as they were fully booked. The TV did not work and the room was not very clean the carpet had hard bits all over it. We just felt there was empathy or help to make things better. We booked through booking.com with all the booking confirmations and reference number, etc but the manager Tillytold us we booked through expedia which was not true

Rooms where clean, comfortable, bit cold, but the bedding was thick and bed was comfy. The issues we had was the noise across the whole hotel, people banging, the wind would rattle the windows enough to be an issue until plugged, someone would flush and our bathroom made an almighty glug sound 😅, the showers worked if a little small for me. Overall not bad, and a GREAT location, walk right in to the forest from the back gate. Great big garden for your dogs/kids, a lot of smaller dogs with attitude problems 🤣 but thats not hotel issue. Good place!

Stayed here in May of this year for a long weekend and had no running hot water for 2 out of the three nights we stayed, with no offer of alternative showering facilities until the morning we were leaving. Staff were friendly and apologetic, and I understand emergency plumbing situations happen, but zero offer of compensation while staying or even after I tried to contact later isn't acceptable. A real shame because the location and the room itself were lovely.

Staff were fantastic, very friendly and attentive. Perfect for our puppy’s first holiday as it was very dog friendly. Great routes for dog walks. Our room was lovely, having our own private conservatory and garden was perfect for the dog. Loved the old bed and furniture, two tvs and a roll top free standing bath was a special feature. Rooms were lovely and warm for a winter evening. We would definitely come back.
