What diners say
We had an absolutely fantastic experience. The food was delicious and beautifully balanced throughout. The scallops were incredibly fresh, full of flavour, and perfectly paired with an organic Cataratto that elevated the dish even more. The steaks were cooked exactly as requested, and the chicken was wonderfully juicy. And the sides… honestly, ola ola olaaa — super delicious and full of character! A massive shoutout to Alex, who did an amazing job. His recommendations, wine pairing, and overall service were outstanding and truly made the experience special. We will definitely be coming back!

Most of our food was inedible as it was pasted with salt! Decided to try Firestater as they had a 50% off offer - you have to prebook and secure with credi card to get the offer. Very quiet when we arrived. Dark setting with small candle on table so had to use light on phone to read menu. Our waiters were lovely, the young man seemed like he was training. Could also hear the head chef repeating instructions to another chef so maybe he was training as well. Was very disappointed that the crab doughnuts weren't available as they were the thing we wanted to try most. The chicken wing starters was nice and big and I liked the batter though the sweet sauce was a little overpowering in parts. Prawns were okay but a little bland. The mains however were terrible unfortunately. They had changed the lamb chops to another form of lamb but online menu had not been updated. Small pieces of lamb topped with a sauce which we couldn't taste because of the salt. The fish was also over salted and after 2 bites I had to send the entire plate back but we were still charged for it. Even the sweet potato had big chunks on salt sprinkled over it - why? But at least that could be scrapped off. The beetroot salad was mostly nice apart from a very sweet sauce on the side. Walnuts and feta accompanying it were lovely. Other than the starters and beetroot salad we didn't eat much. The chef offered us 2 free drinks at the end - nice gesture but we would have preferred to have our main courses re-cooked. We paid £64 and left very hungry. Very disappointed.

First of all, fantastic service provided all the way through. Very accommodating! The atmosphere is classically simple with dusky lighting and small tables yet it's private enough for engaging in conversation freely. Great date spot. They are putting out some fantastic plates of food here. The pork and chicken wings in particular were absolutely breathtaking. None of the meats were heavy on the stomach so it's enjoyable for all. Prepared exceptionally Uniquely tasting cocktails to boot. Will be back

This was a VERY disappointing experience for my partner and I. We saw a good review of this place on TikTok, but I believe we were catfished. The staff were friendly enough but the quality of the food from Ruben's grill was HORRENDOUS - this place is simply OVERPRICED for the quality of food on offer. I was gobsmacked when I spent £10 on two starters only to receive two tiny pieces of nugget shaped beef croquette's with no dip on the side - but it set the tone of disappointment which was to follow. This means that for £5 you get one lonely croquette with no sauce - absolutely wild. The mains came and they were so so bad - the beef brisket cost £19 (each portion) and was COLD as if it had come out of a supermarket fridge. It was so cold, rubbery and chewy that my partner and I just stuck to eating chips for some warmth in the meal. Then we moved onto the half chicken which I have linked the picture for - it was simply not cooked properly and this is unacceptable. I understand the rush to get food out but serving pink chicken is DANGEROUS. We ordered Golden sunset mocktail drinks which were nothing special and lacked any real depth of flavour. We spent over £100 and had to go elsewhere to get a proper meal that night. All in all this place is marketed as a meat eater's dream - but it was our nightmare. AVOID!!!!
