About a block away from Old Course and 10 minute walk to castle, cathedral and St Andrews University. Shopping streets a block in front of hotel. We had a beautiful Deluxe Suite that was wonderful. Did not have time to visit spa. Small but great to order breakfast menu with small buffet table containing fruit, juices, yogurt, cereal etc. Had to close window at night since is a university town but had a fan that did the trick.

We stayed at Kinnettles whilst visiting a student at St Andrews. The hotel is in the centre of the town, close to both beaches and the Old Course. Everything was great from checking in to checking out. The room was clean, with everything you could want (hairdryer, iron, tea and coffee, toiletries) and the beds were comfortable. We had breakfast as part of our booking and there was lots of choice and a good 2 hour time frame to have it. I don't believe there was a lift so if that's a requirement I would suggest checking with them before booking, and there weren't any rooms on the ground floor. The team were really helpful and we were able to leave our bags ahead of check in to explore the area.

We recently finished a stay at the hotel. The reception staff were excellent – friendly, welcoming and very helpful throughout our stay. Unfortunately my experience at the spa was quite disappointing. Before my facial began, I was asked about my use of retinal. I completely understand that therapists need to check this for skin safety, however the interaction felt quite uncomfortable from the start. The therapist (who stated she was the spa manager) came across as rude and dismissive when I tried to explain that I am a long-term retinal user, regularly get facials and had not used retinal in the days leading up to my appointment. Despite trying to reassure her, anything I said seemed to be dismissed and I was told it didn’t matter. Before even establishing whether the facial could go ahead, it was suggested that if it couldn’t be done I would only receive a 30-minute massage instead of the 60-minute treatment I had booked. The tone of the conversation felt argumentative and I was left feeling quite anxious and uncomfortable at the start of what should have been a relaxing experience. In the end the facial did go ahead, which showed there was clearly a way the situation could have been handled much better – for example by simply asking about my routine or checking which products could safely be used. Since the appointment I have also contacted GAIA Skincare directly, who confirmed that their products can be safely used alongside retinal and that retinal use does not automatically prevent a facial from being carried out. This made the way the situation was handled even more disappointing. I also contacted the hotel directly to raise this feedback but unfortunately have not received a response. It’s a shame because the rest of our stay at the hotel was genuinely lovely but at this time with no response from the hotel I would be very reluctant to stay again or recommend to anyone.

Stayed in the Kinnettles 3rd April good friday - came with a hefty price tag of £290 for a deluxe suite, certainly was not worth this kind of money. The latch on the window was broken so it sounded like the window was open all night, not ideal when your room is front of the street so you could hear the street noise. The bathroom door wouldnt shut properly, mould was terrible in the bathroom tiles and plenty of cobwebs not what you would expect from a 5* establishment. The bed was comfy though and the breakfast was lovely. Reception staff were all lovely though and really helpful we were only there for one night.
