Crianlarich Retreats - The Crannog

Killin village is a short walk away, with shops, cafés and pubs drawing locals and visitors year-round. The Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park spreads across the surrounding landscape, offering hill walks, waterside paths and access to some of Scotland's most recognisable scenery. The River Lochay runs through the grounds of The Crannog, a striking round cottage built in the traditional crannog style—ancient timber roundhouses that once stood across this region. Modern comfort meets this historical reference inside: two bedrooms (one with a king bed and ensuite, one with two singles), a second full bathroom, and a ground-floor open-plan living and dining space with large windows framing the river. The kitchen has everything for self-catering. Underfloor heating and wood finishes keep the space warm in winter.

Outside is where The Crannog distinguishes itself. A private hot tub overlooks the riverbank, and a terrace fronts the property. There is an unfenced river in the grounds. Wi-Fi, bed linen, towels and heating are all covered; one well-behaved pet can stay free. The cottage is entirely yours, with parking for two cars and a welcome pack on arrival. No smoking inside.

We had a fabulous half term holiday here. The breakfasts were second to none and kept the adults going till late afternoon! Great base for exploring the local area with so many beautiful local walks to go on.

Beautiful B&B in a beautiful location. Ours hosts were more than accommodating, and we had some lovely conversation with them as well. The dining area was incredible, and breakfast was great! My wife and I stayed here on our way up to the Isle of Skye. I Highly recommend a stay here. Wish we had more time to explore the trails and the Trossachs as a whole.

Wonderful bed and breakfast stayed only one night but what a night. Bed was incredibly comfortable and host are so friendly. If you want a place that has it all go to Creagan house you won't be disappointed. Thanks for the wonderful stay! FYI Creagan house is older than America tons of history!

We stayed four nights and 100% loved our stay, Kerry and Andy were exceptionally excellent hosts, nothing was ever to much trouble. Our room and ensuite bathroom was immaculate, lovely view from our room. Plenty of off road parking. They have a great range of spirits to drink at great prices. Our breakfast was delicious every day, with a great choice of menus. Great walks all around. Fishing aswell. Central to many great places of interest. We can highly recommend this to anyone.
