Cormorant is a contemporary lodge sleeping six on the shores of the Lake of Menteith. Each of its three bedrooms has an en-suite bathroom with either a walk-in shower or bath, and all beds are super kingsize. The ground floor holds two bedrooms and a living space with patio doors opening onto the garden. Upstairs is the third bedroom, with a bath and shower both in the room itself. Everything you need for self-catering is provided: electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are all included.
The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking. Outside, there is a private hot tub for six, a sauna, a firepit, a barbecue, sitting-out areas, a tennis court and parking for five cars. The lodge sits in the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park near Menteith, close to the Port of Menteith and accessible woodland walks. The setting attracts wildlife—ospreys, herons, cormorants and otters regularly visit the shore. Smoking is not permitted inside.

We really enjoyed staying at Lochend Chalets. The chalets were comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful and there’s so much activity on the lake. The reception has duck food for sale. The kids loved feeding the ducks, swans and geese. We had a great dinner at Nick’s too. Would recommend highly.

Stayed at the Lochend Chalets for a stag do with ~16-17 people across the Mallard, Teal and Widgeon&Nest lodges in early June. The lodges were all really well kept, the beds were really comfy, the WiFi was good, lovely kitchen and hosting space, and sliding doors out to the lake which was great! Used the hot tub, the bbq, and the lake for swimming/paddle boarding. Some nice nearby walks, an on site games room with a pool table, table football, table tennis and air hockey table (albeit they’re a little dated), a laundry room and a tennis court. Using the lake was also made easier with some flip flops and extra towels provided in the lodges. For those who like some wildlife there were ducks, swans and geese regularly on the lake next to the lodges, and a lot of other birds in the nearby area. Would highly recommend 😄.

I stayed here some years ago and it was brilliant I've been looking for an excuse to go back. I went out of season, the small cabins were excellent and had everything we needed, checkin and checkout was easy and the location was excellent for walking and exploring. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit.

Wonderful place for a family holiday. We stayed in Heron lodge which was beautiful and immaculately clean. Our children especially loved the little nook under the stairs. Friendly ducks come up to the back door to be fed every day. The lake is on the doorstep and we enjoyed paddling in the clean cold water every day. We weren’t brave enough to swim at these temperatures but did see a couple of hardy souls out (briefly!). Nick’s restaurant on site did delicious food and it’s only a 3 minute walk. The kitchen in the lodge is very well equipped for cooking at home including good quality appliances and little details like graters, proper colanders and good sharp knives. We got a Waitrose delivery to the lodge the evening we arrived and they found us easily. We recommend Mhor bakery in Callander for wonderful sourdough, pastries and delicious sandwiches for lunch. We spent our evenings reading and enjoying the views and the peace. Just a wonderful relaxing break - we are sad to leave and hope to return before too long!
