About Hampton Lucy Holiday Park

Tucked into the Warwickshire countryside just 15 minutes from Stratford-upon-Avon, Hampton Lucy Holiday Park is a peaceful pop-up site that keeps things refreshingly simple. The spacious grass field has room for kids and dogs to roam freely, with a play area and riverside walks along the Avon nearby. Pitches are surrounded by greenery with picnic tables for outdoor meals, though facilities are deliberately basic – portable loos only, no electricity, and you'll need to bring your own drinking water and torches for evening. Some visitors note the set-up can feel a touch spartan, but that's the trade-off for the tranquil setting.

What it lacks in frills it makes up for in location. Charlecote Park's magnificent Tudor estate is a 20-minute walk away, while Stratford's theatres, Shakespeare's Birthplace and Anne Hathaway's Cottage are practically on the doorstep. Families will find Warwick Castle's jousting and falconry displays an easy 15-minute drive.

We had a terrific short break in Lavender Lodge. It was easy to find with great instructions. The location is beautiful and so peaceful with the river close by. Yvonne was a fantastic host and left us some lovely wine and charcoal so we were able to have a couple of wonderful evenings. The hut was very comfortable and we loved the outdoor space and spent a lot of time on the loungers. We'll be back again.

It was a beautiful place in a lovely quiet location and an owner who quickly responded to our issue with the electric cutting out.. However, the place didn't seem fresh. The grey sheets and towels did not smell all that fresh. Not well insulated with a lot of drafts. We were dealing with a significant amount of ladybugs and to find a small nest in the oven glove to show that it had not been freshened up on our arrival but at least several days earlier. it wasn't a bad stay here (the location helped for sure) but for some reason we just weren't comfortable here (We have stayed in several similar glamping places).

mat hughes

Perfect chilled out weekend, with the river only 50 paces away, caught loads of little fish and enjoyed the sunshine all weekend long
