The Writing Room is a detached cottage sleeping two, situated within an exceptional riverside setting near Barford Village Shop. The property occupies one floor with an open-plan living and dining area, a kitchen, one double bedroom, and a wet room with shower. An air source heat pump provides heating and cooling throughout. Essentials including electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included, along with a welcome pack on arrival.
The real draw here is access to the owner's one-acre conservation project on an island in the River Avon. The garden combines a 20-year wildlife management scheme with sustainable practices—there is a hydroelectric generator on the old mill site, and designated viewing spots positioned to catch sightings of kingfishers, otters, birds and riverside flowers. Guests have use of a private patio with gas barbecue and shared access to this wider garden space. One small dog is welcome. The cottage is non-smoking, and children are not accommodated except babies in arms; there is an unfenced riverbank on the owners' property.
A pub lies within a mile. Private parking for one car is provided on site, with an electricity point available.

Just returned from a lovely week staying at The Writing Room. The accommodation was lovely and the river and island setting fantastic. The owners were helpful and available if needed. The weather was exceptionally hot, the property had a large fan and Kirsty checked in on us to check that we were managing ok and offer the use of an extra fan. The accommodation is close to Warwick and Stratford, both places accessible by bus. We would definitely recommend The Writing Room.
