The Salthouse is a single-storey cottage sleeping two, all on one level and with its own enclosed garden. The kitchen is fully fitted with electric cooking, a fridge-freezer, microwave and washing machine—everything needed to self-cater properly. The bedroom has a kingsize bed, and the bathroom combines a bath with an overhead shower. A separate living and dining space gives you room to spread out, with a TV for the evenings. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included; there is a step down into the garden.
The cottage sits near Seaburn Promenade, where the beach itself is within walking distance. The local area has independent cafés and restaurants serving fresh seafood and traditional food. Pets stay free and are welcome here. Newcastle is reachable by public transport if you want a day out, though the immediate locality offers its own coastal walks and dog-friendly stretches of beach. On-road parking is available at the property.

Popped in by myself for breakfast after a walk down from Whitburn. Beautiful decor with a lovely menu. Ordered full English and it came freshly cooked. Delicious. Staff really friendly, and it has a really nice atmosphere with obvious regulars. I sat reading and they didn't hover to hurry me out. I shall return

What an amazing find for a spot of breakfast. Beautiful decor, the team were friendly and attentive and the food well what can I say it was hearty and so delicious!! Set us up for the day. Also had an amazing coffee. We didn’t have the cakes but they looked fabulous so definitely going to need to make a return visit. Thank you ☺️

If you’re thinking of visiting this place, just do it!! I take my granny here and she loves it. It can be hard to get her out and about because of her dementia but because this place is cosy and the staff are so friendly, she loves coming here. Almost as much as she loves the cakes! I order something different to eat every time and it’s always been 10/10. Lastly, just want to mention Sam - thanks for being so kind and accommodating!

Felt like you are in somebody’s front room, good cosy vibes. Chicken quesadillas were ok, not that much flavour to them but ok. Lamb koftas were banging, would recommend. Sweet potato fries and truffle/parmesan fries were good. Overall decent place.
