What guests say
We went for food to the bar restaurant and they said today was the first day of their new menu. Bar was great atmosphere and service very attentive. Food choice was pretty good but lacked a couple of plain choices such as chicken or fish for those that dont like rich or spicy food. Our party of 4 had: the vegetarian moussaka whixh was beautifully presented and very tasty. The cumberland sausage was good especially the mash but the sausage wasnt as tasty as ones we,ve had in cumbria. The chicken and leek pie was tasty and also well presented but the pie was far too big for a lady diner, the base soggy due to very runny sauce and the chicken a little tough...the mash was very tasty but the pea puree a little runny and too piquant.... The katsu curry was very hot for a katsu...perhaps you ought to indicate the strength. Overall a good meal....we did notice the bench seating at some tables was very grimy and ripped...we would not have been happy to sit there. The 1842 cafe was comparatively very well decorated and had comfortable seating....the cakes were amzing and coffees very nice. Would definitely come again and would love to try out the hotel.

Brilliant hotel, lovely room, very comfortable bed. Nice & clean rooms. Great Breakfast, best location right next to the beach 😎. Only 1 thing I would have to say, need to make sure there is a member of staff at the bar, and not having to go to reception to get someone to serve. 98% would have been 100% if I didn't have to looks for barstaff.

Fantastic hotel, great staff and amazing food! Highly recommend in all aspects! Ate in the restaurant 4 times and the food was delicious! The beds are so comfy, the shower was really good too! Blake at reception really helped me out in a printing some documents I urgently needed! Great value for money!

Room was very spacious, beds comfortable, staff greeting really nice & attentive. Hot breakfast was pleasant albeit not really worth the price so would advice maybe looking elsewhere for a more cost effective offering. Customer service could have been substantially better in the breakfast room however I do appreciate not wanting to work such an early shift. Continental breakfast should have had more on offer for such a high price. Bathroom was really poor. Mould on drain, walls and grout! Limescale build up around taps, dirty mirror, unclean floor & a hole in the front bath panel. I tried to contact the hotel directly however had the unpleasant experience of speaking with the "rooms devision manager" who kindly dismissed every one of my claims without even checking the photographs I'd taken of the bathroom. It was claimed the very clear mould on the drain was "tarnished chrome plate" however whilst running a bath I did check to see if the mould was raised and a chunk of mould fell off onto my hand. I do understand what mould is and what it looks like. The bathroom was all around dirty and unpleasant.
