About Premier Inn Swansea Waterfront
Walk into a room at Premier Inn Swansea Waterfront and you'll find an en-suite with a comfortable bed and air conditioning, though upkeep can vary a little from room to room. Across the hotel's six floors there are 132 rooms in total, including accessible options, with drinks available in room and a lift serving all levels. It's a straightforward, functional base rather than a boutique stay, but the basics are consistently done well.
Downstairs there's a restaurant serving breakfast, along with 24 hour reception and an electric vehicle charge point. Parking is available in two open-air car parks on either side of the hotel, a short walk from the entrance, and is chargeable but reasonably priced. Staff are frequently mentioned as helpful and quick to sort out any issues during a stay.
The hotel sits on the Waterfront Development in Swansea, within reach of the National Waterfront Museum and Swansea Marina. Golf, fishing, horse riding, entertainment venues and a pub or bar are all listed as nearby, making it a workable base for exploring the area on foot or by car.
What guests say
Great Hotel. Ideally situated by the water. An easy 15 minute walk from the rail station. Stayed in Room 205 which was very quiet and very clean overlooking water. Food both breakfast and evening was fantastic, worth the money. Very friendly staff all was good for a laugh. Very helpful with any questions about local points of interest. Tesco next door was an added bonus with cash machine. Great walking area too. Will return.

Unfortunately, this Premier Inn is very dated and absolutely not worth what you pay to stay here. It is in desperate need of a full refurbishment. The cleanliness is poor, the rooms are tired, and the whole place feels neglected. We had to move rooms because the entire room had a horrible mouldy urine smell. It wasn’t just the bathroom – the smell had spread throughout the whole room and was absolutely unbearable. As soon as we reported it to reception, we were told the hotel was overbooked, so there were no rooms available to move us into. Instead, they came and sprayed the room and placed an ozone air machine in it, instructing us to leave it running overnight. During the night, my 5-year-old son, who suffers from asthma, woke up struggling to breathe and wheezing heavily. The following day his asthma flared up even more, and he developed a really chesty cough. I cannot say for certain whether this was caused by the mouldy room or the ozone machine we were instructed to leave running overnight, but it was extremely concerning, especially after we had already reported the condition of the room and were then forced to stay in it because the hotel was overbooked. To compensate us, they decided to give us a complimentary breakfast. While some people might appreciate that gesture, it was worth around £15–£20 and wasn’t something we were bothered about because we had already planned to have breakfast anyway. What we actually wanted was a clean room that didn’t stink of mouldy urine. They eventually moved us at around 12 noon the following day. By then, the damage had already been done. We had to pack all of our belongings, wait for another room to become available then move everything to the next room and then unpack again, which made us late for an event we had planned as we had to shower and get the kids ready. To make matters even worse, the shower in the original room wouldn’t stop running at full blast. I had to report it to reception at around 9:00 am, and they sent their handyman. The only way he could stop it was by turning the water supply off completely, leaving us with no running water at all. We couldn’t use the shower, sink or even flush the toilet, causing even more delays and frustration. The breakfast wasn’t great either and definitely needs improving. I will say that some members of staff were brilliant friendly, helpful and genuinely tried to assist us but there were also a couple who were unapproachable and didn’t seem interested. Overall, this was one of the worst Premier Inn experiences we’ve had. Being forced to spend the night in a room that smelt strongly of mouldy urine because the hotel was overbooked, having our young son suffer an asthma flare-up and develop a chesty cough, dealing with a broken shower that left us without water, and then being moved so late that it disrupted our plans completely is simply unacceptable. We left feeling extremely disappointed, and based on this experience, we would not stay at this Premier Inn again.

Had a fab week in Swansea. Can't complain about a thing. A Beefeater restaurant and a Tesco Express / cash machine attached. The usual meal deals are available. Breakfast was great and served at 6.30am. Tesco open at 6am. Evening meals looked good. Busy place. Lovely Waterfront location. Easy safe pretty walk into town. Overall rooms were fine and clean but the whole place just needs a lick of paint and freshening up. Definitely recommend though. Starbucks is a very short walk inside The Village Hotel which also had a lovely bar area / menu / big TV's etc

Original Premier Inn design so very tired. Noisy motors/fans if you're on the back of the hotel kept waking me up. Staff were helpful. No hot water for a shave and tap pressure is very low. Air con worked well but noisy.
