About Morgans Hotel

Morgans occupies the grand former Port Authority headquarters overlooking Swansea Marina, a building whose ornate Edwardian facade and domed corner tower make it one of the most recognisable landmarks in the Maritime Quarter. Inside, the conversion has kept much of the original detailing, from marble floors to high ceilings, while fitting in individually styled rooms across the main building and a neighbouring townhouse annexe.

Rooms range from cosy doubles to larger suites with roll-top baths and views over the marina, and the hotel's restaurant and bar make use of the grand former banking hall on the ground floor. It is a popular choice for a special-occasion stay in the city rather than a budget base, and its location puts the market, museums and station all within easy walking distance.

Being right in the Maritime Quarter also means Mumbles and the start of the seafront promenade are a short walk or cycle away, making Morgans a good compromise between city convenience and proximity to the bay.

I stayed one night at Morgan’s on my way to the Mumbles . First time in Swansea. Single woman on my own, I felt very safe here . Appropriate lock on the inside of the door - not just key card entry system like some budget options that have been in the news lately (men entering without permission). I was very happy here and felt v looked after . Booked last minute and I was v happy. Great last minute deal, excellent value for a large room. Comfy bed, great bathroom - v spacious shower . Very clean. Slept like a log Staff were great and helpful. Bar was lovely, nice setting and tasty Malbec. Highly recommended

The room was a good size and OK in a retro style. Zero stars for everything else. The room is totally unventilated, even the windows don’t open. Same air as in the 19th century. They took a dinner reservation - but don’t have a restaurant! Swansea has some decent hotels, avoid this one.

Wonderful hotel. Laura (on reception) was so great - helpful, friendly and really raised our spirits after a long journey! The hotel also kindly posted me some glasses I left behind.
