About The Bolingbroke Hotel
Homemade cooking and hearty portions are the main draw at The Bolingbroke Hotel, where the restaurant and bar turn out fresh, reasonably priced meals served by attentive staff. It's the kind of place where a meal after a day in Wiltshire feels properly satisfying rather than an afterthought, and breakfast is included for those staying over.
Beyond the kitchen, the hotel keeps things simple with 8 rooms that guests find clean, comfortable and welcoming. Each comes with free WiFi and air conditioning, and drinks can be brought straight to your room. Free on-site parking makes arriving by car straightforward, and luggage storage is handy for early check-ins or late departures.
The Bolingbroke also functions as a wedding venue and has meeting rooms for those combining business with a stay, while its Greatfield address in Swindon puts pubs, bars and restaurants within easy reach for evenings out. It's a compact, food-focused stop rather than a large resort hotel, and that focus shows in what lands on the plate.

What guests say
Didn't stay went for lunch. Found the older lady serving unfriendly and sarcastic- the food was nice but event spoiled by her attitude-assume she was landlady as wouldn't survive as staff. Also they charged extra 50p for a white Americano coffee over a black americano. Thought maybe that was normal so googled it and result said charging for small amount of milk is "cheeky"

We didn't stay here. We went in for food which was quite disappointing. Potatoes had several bad, black bits in them. The veg was tired and overcooked with the exception of the broccali. The stuffing was a dry ball, not pleasant. The gravy was thin and not a lot of it. Yorkshires were delicious. Dessert was nice but not home made meringue as advertised.

The worst Sunday lunch we’ve had. Came here with my family today and all of our meals were bland and flavourless. None of the food tasted fresh. The roast potatoes were a rubbery texture, the pork was dry, even the bowl of veg was a very sad offering. I had a vegetable loaf which was inedible. Nothing was hot enough either. The food was so terrible, we decided not to stay for dessert. The atmosphere of the pub was cold and joyless. The staff were friendly enough, but no one asked how the food was, even after so much was left on the plate. It’s incredibly disappointing to come out for a meal that we could’ve made better ourselves at home and would have been a nicer environment too!
