We had a most enjoyable stay at the Islay Frigate Hotel. We were returning from Islay on a late ferry but were assured that the bar would still be open and access to the room would not be a problem. Indeed the bar was very lively and convivial. We had booked the en suite room with harbour view and it was extremely comfortable with a nautical theme. Breakfast was comprehensive and enjoyable. The price point makes it very attractive for an overnight stay. The location is excellent for exploring the charming harbour area in Tarbert.

Nice wee place, room we had was on top floor, the roof was low on one side of the room, Their breakfast was nice enough, all the coffee you can drink (nice beans) staff friendly, place was clean fresh and had some quite nice decorative features. Just be aware shared shower rooms and loos, also the pub downstairs opens till about 11ish, Apart from that it’s a lovely wee place to relax, our window looked directly onto the harbour,

Rooms small but very neat and tidy, shared bathroom less than ideal but can't complain at this price point. Breakfast was great, and the castle was just up the hill if you fancy a walk while waiting for breakfast service to start! Would definitely stop over here again if I'm passing!

Nice wee pub with a good selection of beers. Very dog friendly - he had a bowl of water and a treat from the staff before our drinks arrived. Staff and locals very friendly.
