Shore Cottage
Argyll and Bute
Photo: Google Maps
Shore Cottage sits on the waterfront at Loch Tarbert in Argyll and Bute, a single-storey property where the garden descends to the shoreline itself. The two double bedrooms and two bathrooms mean there's space to spread out; one bedroom has an ensuite, the other a walk-in shower. The living and dining space centres on a woodburner and opens through French doors onto an enclosed garden with patio, and from there a 3ft drop leads down to the fenced garden and beach beyond. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering—electric cooker, dishwasher, fridge, microwave and washer dryer included—and heating, bed linen, towels, wi-fi and wood are all provided.
The setting makes this cottage unusual: you can fish directly from the shore, walk the beach, and watch deer and seals from the garden. Tarbert village, a working fishing and sailing port with shops, cafes, pubs and galleries, is roughly 2 miles away. The wider area offers sandy beaches at Carradale, day trips to the gardens of Gigha or to Arran, and extensive walking country. The property takes one well-behaved pet. Smoking is not permitted inside.
