There are 40 rooms spread across two floors, including accessible options, and each comes with the reassurance of a proper night's sleep rather than any frills.

Downstairs, a restaurant and bar cover breakfast and evening meals, with a buffet breakfast that offers a decent spread to set guests up for the day, though the choice of food elsewhere can be more limited. Staff on site are consistently described as helpful and friendly, and reception is staffed around the clock for early starts or late arrivals. We stayed at this hotel years ago when the pub next door was still open. We had a great stay then but unfortunately not so much when we stayed at this Premier Inn last week. The whole place has a derelict feel to it. The room was ok but not air conditioned. Also the noise from the road was awful luckily drowned out somewhat by the portable fan. It's a real shame the place has gone downhill so much. The restaurant experience wasn't too great either. We won't come back here.

A weak link in the Premier Inn chain. We stayed in a family room with a one year old. On arrival the room was dusty, and unprepared. There was no toilet roll and the bed was not properly made. I do appreciate that the nation is experiencing a heatwave but the conditions of our room were unbearable. The temperature exceeded 34 degrees for the duration but ironically were unable to open the window due to their safety policy. It finally cooled down to 30 degrees by 09:00 the following morning. The establishment thought it adequate to provide us with a fan to blow the hot air around the room, small glasses of ice and towels to soak in cold water. We were expressly told that if we stayed in the room that was unfit for purpose, we would not be eligible for a reimbursement. To top it all off, the hotel appears to be run by a one woman show. We were checked in by a team member at 16:00 on 12 July and we saw her again at 22:30, and 01:00 and 07:00 on 13 July. She man's the check ins, room service , complaints, hosts the restaurant and cooks breakfast. This is unethical at the least but must be breaking some sort of employment law. I can only describe the stay as torturous.

Would definitely not advise staying here when it's hot. There is no Aircon. The coolest the room got was 32.5 degrees. It isn't clear when booking that there is no AC and many assume a hotel this size will have Aircon. Despite not fulfilling their promise of a good night's sleep, no remedy was offered by customer services, just generic platitudes (and hope no more in response to this). Avoid.

Another day another dollar as they say. Drove down before Xmas..yep this is a late review but playing catchup. First time at this premier inn. Now if you are wanting the full premier inn experience ..it a boozer and restaurant that is open next door. This isn’t for you. However if you want a little bit more of a Personal dining experience with a mini restaurant and help yourself bar from the fridge then this is for you. Rooms are clean as always but I did like this please. Have to say food was great. Was starving after my 6hour drive down. Anyway thanks premier inn. Oh and thank you for the amazing chicken wings. 10/10.
