This is a charming spot that exudes a warm welcome and is the perfect place to unwind and relax after a day on the moor. It's my second stay here, having turned up both times absolutely shattered from wandering around Dartmoor and looking for a comfortable place to spend the night. I don't think I could find anywhere more inviting. Both of the rooms I've stayed in have been exquisitely appointed with lots of attention to detail. The whole house is so warm and comforting that it's very hard to leave in the mornings! I only had a brief meeting with Jack, the owner, but he took the time to stop and say hello and make sure everything was tickety-boo... which, of course, it was. On my previous visit, a few years ago now, my friends and I turned up like drowned rats after walking for many hours in the rain. Iain and Jack were super thoughtful and looked after us so well that my first thought was to stay here when I was next in town. I will definitely be coming back and recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the area.

What a lovely BnB! My sister lives in Tavistock and I have stayed at multiple different venues whilst visiting her and one drake road is by far the best. Room was clean, comfortable and lovely & warm. There are so many special touches (which I won’t list so not to spoil the surprise!) throughout which make you feel totally at home. Location is great, right in the town. Please don’t be put off by no parking, there are spaces outside the property which were free both times I walked past and multiple roads / car parks you could park in easily in close walking distance. I had other breakfast plans so didn’t try this time but thought the menu sounded great & set up was well thought out. There is a large drawing room you can relax in and the whole place is filled beautifully curated art & design. Would throughly recommend.

I had a very disappointing experience with this hotel. I booked a room around 10:30 PM and received confirmation for my reservation, so I expected to be able to check in without any issues. However, when I arrived, the staff told me they could not check me in because their check-in time ended at 8 PM. This made no sense, especially since there was no mention of any check-in time restriction when I made the booking. If late check-in is not possible, the hotel should clearly state this before accepting reservations. Because of their poor communication and lack of responsibility, I was left with no place to stay and had to spend the night in my car. This was extremely stressful and unacceptable. I would not recommend this hotel due to the inconvenience, misleading booking process, and terrible customer service.

Beautifully decorated room, very clean. Ian and Jack were fantastic hosts, greeting us on arrival. Great location, close to all local shops, bars and restaurants, however, tucked away so nice and quiet. Thank you for letting us stay, will certainly consider staying again if in the area
