I came in with a group of thirteen for afternoon tea at the Bedford Hotel and it was absolutely lovely! It was my first time have afternoon tea and I enjoyed the brew of tea and the food bites. The private room was nice and it was great to have our entire group seated at one table for conversing. The scones were so soft and fluffy, the best ones I’ve ever eaten. The clotted cream was thick and creamy and the raspberry jam was perfectly sweet. Everything was perfect! I would love to come back and stay at the hotel next time I visit. Also, our servers, Grace and Keira, were wonderful and were quick to bring us more tea when we ran out and coffee.

Visited for a belated birthday cream tea. Easy booking online. Parking available albeit a tight squeeze getting into the spaces. Rear entrance is wheelchair accessible but the front entrance is not. Traditional decor inside, does need some updating but we were there for the food not the walls! Staff were very attentive and welcoming. Great value. The scones were warm and homemade, langage farm cream, and a huge pot of strawberry jam to share between the 3 of us. Selection from tea, coffee, or hot chocolate.

I returned here after many years away for a family function. Situated just off the main square it stands out as the best hotel in town. It's architecture is complimented by the town hall on the other side of the square. We hired a private function room and had a buffet provided by the hotel, every item was of the highest quality and the amount given for the numbers booked was excellent. There is a couple of bar areas inside plus outside seating. A good size carpark for patrons. This is a perfect place to spoil yourself.
