Beaworthy sits deep in Dartmoor National Park, where the B3212 cuts through mature woodland and the nearest town, Moretonhampstead, is three and a half miles away. Woodside Lodge occupies its own corner of a 13-acre estate of ancient trees and open ground, accessed by a quiet track. The setting suits walkers and those after genuine quiet; there's no light pollution, and a stream runs through the grounds. Dogs are welcome at no extra cost and can roam the shared woodland.

This is a ground-floor property sleeping two in a kingsize bedroom, with a bathroom combining bath and shower cubicle. The open-plan living space has a kitchen equipped for proper cooking—electric oven, dishwasher, washing machine—and a sitting area with Freesat and DVD. French doors open onto a gravelled courtyard with garden furniture and a sitting-out area. Electricity, wi-fi, bed linen and towels are all included. One car can park on site. Check-in is after 4pm and checkout before 10am.

The nearest supermarket is Sainsburys at Exeter, ten miles away. Moretonhampstead has a co-op and butchers. The beach is fourteen miles distant. Smoking is not permitted indoors.

We stayed in the Bluebells Lodge lasy week. The lodge itself is beautifully presented, comfortable and very well equipped - we were delighted with it. And to top it off the views across to Dartmoor are stunning. The owner - Andrew - was friendly and helpful and communications before, during and after our trip were responsive, clear and efficient. Highly recommended.

This place was fabulous. Lodge was located with 2 others overlooking fields and 20 miles of countryside. Everything you needed was in this lodge - just needed to take clothes and food.! Quality of the lodge was beautiful. Owner was very friendly, didn't bother us but willingly helped if needed. Lovely rural area of Devon with local walks. Couldn't fault it. Only thing missing was a tea cosy for the teapot - a petty observation compared to the fantastic time we had there. Definitely recommended if you like peace and countryside.

Just returned from a wonderful week in Buttercups lodge. We received complimentary milk, tea bags, coffee and cake on arrival, adding to the very warm welcome from Andrew and Sally. The lodge has everything you could need, including a newly fitted kitchen and games for children. The field within the ground is ideal for dog exercise, being fenced in and leading to a quiet cycle lane. Hatherleigh is a small town close by which has a Coop and an excellent fish & chip shop. Other places of interest we found were Dingles Vintage Fair, Valley of rocks & Lynton and the Exmoor pony centre. The owners were always keen to offer help and have information on local walks on request. We would love to return soon.

Lovely lodges in a lovely location with great hosts. We took two lodges this August for us and our extended family and had a very comfortable and relaxing time. Everything we needed was available and if it was not the owners were keen to stress that we only needed to ask them. The only grip was the weather, couple of days of showers, but sitting on the covered veranda area listening to the rain was nice. Certainly would like to stay again and more than happy to recommned to others.
