Scrumpy Barn is a converted barn on a 300-acre working dairy farm between Newton Abbot and the coast. The property sleeps six across three bedrooms: a lower ground floor kingsize with ensuite bath, a double on the ground floor, and two singles. There is a second shower room upstairs. The open-plan ground floor combines living space with a kitchen fitted for proper cooking—electric oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave and fridge-freezer all there. Essentials including electricity, heating, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are covered. A travel cot, highchair and stairgate are available for younger children.
Two patios with garden furniture look out across Devon countryside. On-site parking fits four cars. The farm has a shared games room with table football, table tennis and darts, plus an enclosed play area for children. A quiet lane runs past, and the village pub is within walking distance. Footpaths cross the farm itself, offering chances to watch the daily cattle routine or simply walk the grounds. Dartmoor lies a short drive away—good for cream teas in small villages, walking the Tors or spotting wild ponies. Exeter and Plymouth are both under 30 minutes by car. No smoking throughout.

We spent a week in the hay rick it was amazing. On arrival there was scones, jam and clotted cream. The accmodation had everything we needed . The kitchen was so well equipped and even had a dishwasher which was great. The hosts Jan and Dave couldn't do enough for us and my other family members did a tour of milking the cows which they loved. Such an idilic and relaxing place . Hope to return one day

Absolutely stunning location and accommodation. The house was beautifully presented, well laid out and filled with everything you need. Well thought out to be stocked with cleaning supplies, games and maps/guides to local attractions. Hosts were very welcoming and engaging to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Would highly recommend a stay here and no doubt will be back ourselves another time. Thank you for a pleasant weekend.

We have just stayed here for a week and all we can say is Wow what a holiday one of our best if not the best family holiday we have ever had Jan , David and all the family were perfect hosts from start to finish from arrival with the best home made scone we have ever tasted , the amazing farm tour and they just can't do enough for you and are just so helpful and friendly Our son particularly loved playing with Jess ,Fred and Jim the dogs We are all ready booked for next year's holiday for next year and we can't wait to come back heartfelt thanks again we thoroughly recommend

We have just stayed here (May 25) and what a place to stay. Clean, light and everything was there to Make it a great holiday. The farm itself is easy to find, but there are some small roads to go through. There was some scones and cream, jam. Fresh milk and tea coffee to get you started. The WiFi isn’t great, it’s ok for emails and the like, doubt it would run a fire stick. YouTube was struggling. But you’re on holiday, so do something else. There is a games room (I didn’t go in) and an offer from the owners to see the dairy cows and take a glimpse of their business. The location was great for us, we like to go to different places each day, and it’s a short drive to the main roads to visit the sights Devon has to offer. The owners were really friendly, they have a great set up and deserve all the praise for this small site. They should be proud of what they’ve achieved in a brave move.
