Bramley Cottages - Blenheim Cottage
Rother
Bramley Cottages – Blenheim Cottage stands on a traditional sheep and fruit farm deep in the Tillingham Valley, where the countryside opens onto Romney Marsh and a cluster of small towns within easy reach. The location works equally well for walkers wanting to follow public footpaths across orchards and farmland, or for visitors drawn to Rye with its cobbled streets, galleries and waterfront. Camber and Winchelsea beaches lie 6 and 3 miles away respectively. The nearest shop and pub are 2 miles off.
The cottage sleeps four across two bedrooms: a double on the ground floor and two singles upstairs. Downstairs, an open-plan living and dining space opens onto a terrace with garden furniture and barbecue; there is also a shower room. The kitchen has an electric cooker and the usual appliances for self-catering. Electricity, bed linen, towels and wi-fi are provided. One small dog is welcome on this working farm. The property has private parking for two cars and there is a fenced pond about 50 yards away. The farm setting means spring visits coincide with lambing and apple blossom, while summer brings clearer views across the fields.
The area holds several castles and gardens worth a day trip – Bodiam, Camber and Scotney among them – as well as a vintage steam railway, local vineyards, and Rye Harbour nature reserve. The old Cinque Port town hosts a bonfire festival in November, maritime events in August and an arts festival in September. Rye railway station connects to London in under two hours.
