The Wagon Lodge

The Wagon Lodge is a four-bedroom, four-bathroom cottage on a 200-acre sheep and fruit farm in Tillingham Valley. Ground floor holds the living and dining spaces, with a woodburner, kitchen equipped for proper cooking, and direct access to decking that catches morning and evening sun. Upstairs are two further bedrooms. All four rooms have their own shower or bath, and televisions. Bed linen, towels, wifi and heating are all included; logs for the fire are provided too.

The setting is the draw. The property overlooks a pond with ducks and fish, and sits among orchards and fields where public footpaths connect the wider countryside. Spring brings lambs and apple blossom; at other times there is simply the working farm to watch and walking routes to follow. Rye, the ancient Cinque Port town with cobbled streets and galleries, is close by and hosts festivals through the year. Camber, Bodiam and Scotney castles are within reach. The decked garden has furniture, and there is a larger fenced grass area for games. Private parking for three cars is on site. One dog is welcome. No smoking indoors.
