About Hare and Hounds Campsite
Hare and Hounds Campsite sits just outside Rye Foreign, making it an ideal base for exploring this historic corner of East Sussex. The pitches are spacious and well-maintained, with a choice of electric or non-electric grass plots, and campfires are encouraged for that proper outdoor feel. Facilities punch above their weight: expect spotless shower blocks, individual toilets, a communal washing-up area stocked with complimentary washing-up liquid, plus thoughtful extras like a free-to-use fridge, freezer, microwave, and phone charging points (there's no WiFi, so you're truly off-grid).
The friendly, welcoming owners set the tone, and the location is a real bonus—Rye's cobbled streets and the local pub are both within easy walking distance. Dogs are welcome, and families will find it straightforward and accommodating. A solid, no-frills site that gets the basics spot-on.

What visitors say
The perfect campsite for campervans. The 'no music' policy really helps you mellow to the sound of birdsong. Loads of room between piches. The toilets and showers were spotless. Excellent water pressure in the showers - even when someone flushes the toilet! Toilet rools supplied too. The washing up area is stocked with washing-up liquid, a microwave and kettle. There's a great pub down twenty mins walk up the road and the most continental-style supermarket, Jempson's is another 10 mins walk away. There's also a picturesque walk into Rye through the farm opposite. Highly recommended.

Excellent hosts at The Hare and Hounds campground found us a shady spot to pitch our tent. The fridge/freezer was very useful in the heat. The showers were cleaned regularly. The covered washing up area was well organised with a secure charging point for mobile phones.

My partner and I enjoyed a wonderful weekend away, camping at the Hare & Hounds Campsite. We enjoyed their beautiful facilities- spotless and many showers and toilets, as well as complimentary facilities- including a washing up station (with washing up liquid and cleaning equipment) as well as fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle, and places to charge our phones! The fields were spacious, with plenty of room between each camper and the area itself is brilliant. Around the fields is farm land, so you are surrounded by rolling hills, and lambs! We also hired a brazier, and paid for wood (which you can do on site) and enjoyed a lovely campfire as we watched the sunset. You are situated less than a 15 minute walk from the nearest pub, and a 15 minute drive into the heart of Rye- what’s not to love! And for £29 a night for a non electric pitch, what more could you want? I would absolutely stay here again, and have recommended it to my friends and family. Thanks again to the brilliant Hare & Hounds team, you guys are bloody brilliant! X

We stayed here for 2 nights, owner was lovely and the facilities were all clean. Enjoyed hot showers and a fridge freezer and microwave free to use. Close to the coast and the town of Rye which was lovely to walk around. Will definitely return!
