Gambledown Farm sits in open countryside between Romsey and the River Test, a working regenerative farm where The Hay Barn offers self-catering space for groups and families. The converted building is detached with its own entrance, parking for two cars on site, and gardens with furniture and a barbecue for outdoor meals.

Inside, three bedrooms and three bathrooms serve eight guests. The ground floor has an open-plan living and kitchen area with enough equipment to cook properly—oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge—plus a family bedroom with bunks and two single beds, and its own shower room. Upstairs, a kingsize bedroom has an ensuite shower room, and a third bedroom with two singles (which can zip together as a superking) has a bath and ensuite. Underfloor heating, WiFi, bed linen and towels are all provided. The property doesn't permit smoking. Access is via a rough farm track.

One dog is welcome. Families with younger children will find a play area on the grounds, and a highchair is available on request. The sauna and ice bath facilities are shared with other properties on the farm and available at additional cost by arrangement.

I recently hosted a 2 night residential retreat at Gambledown Farm & came away wishing I could have stayed longer. Wonderful accommodation - I love that each bedroom has a dedicated bathroom, great Event Space, super-well equipped kitchens & a great sauna/ice-plunge experience with Rob. Already planning to return next year!

We've now visited Gambledown three times in the past three years, and each stay has been just as special as the last. This was our first time staying in the barns, and we also had the opportunity to celebrate our 40th birthday in the Events Barn and on the lawn – it was the perfect setting for such a memorable occasion. The location is simply incredible, peaceful, beautifully maintained, and ideal for relaxing with family and friends. Everything is thoughtfully designed, making every visit feel unique while still feeling like coming home. We had a wonderful time and are already looking forward to our next visit. We can't wait to experience the safari tents and cosy evenings around the wood burners. Gambledown has become a place we return to year after year, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a truly special getaway.

We had a wonderful stay at Staddlestone Barn on Gambledown Farm. The accommodation is beautifully set within an ancient oak grain store barn sitting above the ground on Staddlestones on a quiet working farm. Our double room was spotlessly clean and well laid out, very comfortable beds, a great shower and a handy kitchenette that made the stay feel relaxed and self-sufficient. It struck the perfect balance between rustic charm and modern convenience. A fantastic place to stay—we’d highly recommend it and would love to return.
