Bideford sits on North Devon's coast, where the Heritage Coast stretches toward Hartland Point and walking trails crisscross the clifftops. Orchard House is a converted barn on a 20-acre site shared with woodland, meadows, a tennis court and games room, though the property itself is yours alone. It sleeps 14 across six bedrooms—four with king beds and ensuite showers, one with two singles sharing an ensuite, and one king with a jack-and-jill setup. Five bathrooms in total means no queues on family mornings. Downstairs there's an open-plan living space with a wood-burning stove, a kitchen equipped for cooking, a second sitting room with a sofa bed, and a utility room with washing and drying facilities.
Essentials like electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are covered. The enclosed garden has a patio, BBQ and furniture; parking fits three cars. One dog stays free. Children are welcome—travel cots and highchairs are available, and a welcome pack is provided. The property does not permit smoking. A natural spring supplies the water, and there's a pond on the grounds, so check the layout suits your group before booking.

We stayed at Chapman House for my birthday week and loved every minute of it. The weather was awful but the house was large enough for three generations not to feel on top of each other. Enjoyed amazing views of green fields and the sea and snuggled by the fire in the evenings. Would love to come back in the summer.

BOOKING NOT HONOURED . Be Very wary we booked and paid in full and about six weeks after, we were contacted to say the property had been advertised at the wrong price and they wanted 10x more . This was not acceptable ,so a few weeks before we were due to go we had to scramble around to find something else . Interstingly the holiday home was never re advertised it was blocked out as being lett immediately !

We stayed in Chapman House. Living space upstairs with great views out toward the sea (at least when it wasn't raining!). The shared games room got lots of use by kids and adults alike. Really nice big kitchen with balcony and the garden looked like it would be great in nicer weather. I am sure we will be back...

Spent a lovely weekend here. Very clean and tidy. Excellent facilities. Easy access to the north Devon and Cornwall coast.
