Outside, an enclosed patio garden provides a quiet spot to settle with morning coffee or linger after dinner. The cottage has the timber-framed character of an older building, which means some areas have lower ceilings. On-site parking is available. Umberleigh itself is a small North Devon village; Barnstaple lies a short distance away for shops and cafés. The River Taw is close enough for walks, and the Tarka Trail offers longer routes on foot or by bike. Exmoor and the coast are within reach for days out, but the setting remains quiet and rural.
