Bramling Apartment is a ground-floor one-bedroom base for two on the Moorhead Country Holidays complex, a 12-acre site near Bideford in North Devon. The apartment is self-contained, with its own entrance, living space, kitchen, bedroom and two bathrooms. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are all included; there's also a shared laundry room with coin-operated machines if you need it.
The grounds hold a heated indoor swimming pool (15m by 5m), a hot tub for four, a gym, a games room with pool table and table tennis, and various outdoor spaces with seating. A coarse fishing lake is on site, as is a 9-hole pitch and putt course (Easter to September, weather dependent). The complex has a licensed bar and restaurant open at various times of year. Parking is allocated for one car. No smoking is permitted in the apartment.
The location suits couples or pairs of friends wanting to be near the North Devon coast while having the option to use the facilities on the grounds, or it works as a base for exploring the wider area. Bideford itself is nearby, and the site is in countryside with countryside views.

We booked this property primarily for the hot tub and confirmed its availability before arrival. This was an impromptu, last-minute booking due to a boiler breakdown at home. Travelling with a toddler, we were looking for a short recreational stay. However, important restrictions including that children were not allowed to use the hot tub were not mentioned in the listing and were not communicated when I enquired about the hot tub and were only included in a lengthy PDF sent after paying a non-refundable deposit. For a short stay, critical information like this should be clearly highlighted upfront rather than buried in post-booking documentation. We used the hot tub briefly and responsibly, yet were later accused of leaving it in an unacceptable condition, with suggestions of staining and contamination. We did not observe any issue when we left, and no clear evidence was provided linking us to the alleged problem. There were also other guests using the facilities before us, as noted on the pool room sign-in, and we were the last to use it that evening. The following morning, the host stated that it had already been cleaned after our use, so we did not use it again. It is therefore unclear how it could have been closed for other users the next day due to us. Despite this, after we escalated the matter, a £55 charge was requested claiming the hot tub had to be closed for a full day, which contradicts the earlier explanation. There were also several issues during our stay. Some kitchen utensils had visible coffee stains on arrival. WiFi did not work throughout our stay. No basic essentials such as sugar or salt were provided. Despite this, we washed and dried all utensils, wiped the microwave, collected rubbish, and left the property in a clean and reasonable condition at checkout. Despite these concerns, we initially left a positive review in goodwill. The host subsequently left a negative review with unsubstantiated claims. Overall, the experience felt unnecessarily stressful and confrontational rather than relaxing. For the price and very short stay, we expected clearer communication and a more reasonable approach. We have had excellent experiences elsewhere, but this stay was disappointing, and we would not return or recommend. Photos of how we left the property at checkout attached.

Been here 2024 and just this good friday weekend for a complete recharge of the battery's, needless to say it's my family's go to, nice and peaceful has everything you could want on site, the staff are friendly and what a view that is to wake up, highly recommend the apartments with balcony view 😀 😊 will definitely definitely be booking again as seeing the smiles on my children's face when they realised we came back 😀 😊 thank you once again 😀

We stayed at Moorhead Country Holidays and loved it. The location is really peaceful, surrounded by beautiful countryside, but still easy to get to the North Devon coast and local villages. The accommodation was clean, comfy, and had everything we needed. The beds were great, the kitchen was well equipped, and the place just felt really welcoming. The owners are a lovely family who are friendly and helpful, but also give you plenty of privacy. You can tell they really care about making sure guests have a good stay. We’d definitely come back — a perfect spot for relaxing, countryside walks, or exploring the area. Highly recommend Moorhead Country Holidays!

Situated deep in the Devon countryside, run by the most friendly family, Moorhead is great place to stay. We only had a two day break but left fully refreshed. Our apartment was first class, the food (mostly homemade) was superb & all other facilities spot on. Thank you for making us so welcome - we will be back.
