What visitors say
Tottenham Marsh is a place that more people should go to. Local to Tottenham as its name would suggest and easy to get to from Tottenham Hale station Northumberland Park Station and Meridian Water. Also, you can get the 192 bus there. And it’s a nice place to cycle or walk. The café sells snacks, cakes and drinks. It also has a Book library for sharing books or taking them. Stonebridge Lock is well worth a visit to watch boats going through. In the summer there are many blackberries in the area. To sum up this is a gem in an area of london that is perhaps a little short of gems.

Tottenham Marshes extend from Ferry Lane in the south, along a narrow strip which widens to an extensive green area after passing an area of allotments. You can walk through them on good paths, parallel to the canal towpath, as far as Chalk Bridge. it is a pleasant and relaxing walk, far removed from the noise of the surrounding area.

Easy access green space with good walking routes 🌿 I’ve visited Tottenham Marshes a few times now, including a recent visit with a small group. One of the main advantages is the parking, which makes it easy to access the marshes without much hassle. The paths are well suited to walking and jogging, and it’s common to see runners using the route. The area feels open and relatively quiet once you’re further in, with less road noise than you might expect given the location. There’s a noticeable amount of wildlife as well, on one visit we even spotted a bird of prey flying overhead. From here, it’s easy to connect to nearby routes along the canal or walk further towards Walthamstow Wetlands, which makes it a good starting point for a longer outing. There’s also a café nearby along the canal if you want to stop for a drink. Overall, it works well as an accessible place for a relaxed walk, especially if you’re looking for somewhere practical to start from.
