London Pub Map

🚇 Wandsworth Town 🍺 £6.80 Pravha The East Hill is located in a quiet residential backstreet in the heart of Wandsworth, southwest London. The nearest station is Wandsworth Town. This architecturally impressive corner pub was built in 1881 and started life as The East Hill Hotel. It was also known as The Old East Hill in its early years. In more recent years, it was converted into a Slug & Lettuce chain bar before being taken over by Young’s, and The East Hill name was reinstated. This is a traditionally decorated, high-ceilinged, one-bar pub. The servery is located on the right and clad in dark wood panels. The floor is boarded, with a large rug at the far end. The walls are painted white with panelling below and are adorned with some fantastic, colourful artworks. The seating is a mix of high tables running through the middle and comfortable, low-level seating elsewhere. Other features include a huge central mirror and a period fireplace near the corner. At the front of the pub, there is a decked area with an awning above. The beer selection features familiar favourites, including cask ales. I decided on a Pravha; my pint was great, price point was a little punchy. The food menu offers an à la carte selection of pub classics—fish and chips costs £19—and roasts are available on Sundays. I arrived at 11am on a bright, sunny Saturday morning in March. The pub had just opened, so everything felt chilled and relaxed. I had a good mooch around and a nice chat with the Guv’nor, who was gearing up for a busy day as the Six Nations rugby was on. The other team member was friendly too. The pub hosts a weekly quiz every Sunday evening. Visiting East Hill was a pleasant experience. It’s a lovely-looking pub with a nice, local feel. There’s a good choice of beers, and the Sunday roasts receive rave reviews. It’s well worth checking out if you’re in the area. 📅 14th March 2026

The Sunday roast was so good. The beef was perfectly cooked, the Yorkshire pudding was fluffy and chewy, and the potatoes and parsnips were drenched in delicious gravy.

Came in for a Sunday roast and it was absolutely delicious, the beef was cooked perfectly and the potatoes were crispy! Only thing I’d prefer is if the gravy was a bit thicker and had more flavour, it’s quite watery. Other than that can’t fault the roast, and I felt like it was a generous portion of beef too. The desserts were a slight let down compared to the roasts. The sticky toffee pudding had nice flavours but the pudding itself wasn’t sticky enough and just had the consistency of a crumbly cake. The salted caramel ice cream was great though. We had great service up till the desserts, we were offered the menus and then no one came back to take our order for a good 15min. To which at that point I just went up to the bar to order but even then I just had stalled walk past me multiple times without acknowledging me, eventually someone stopped and asked. All in all a really great meal, and will definitely be back. Very nice ambiance inside and super dog friendly.
