If you're visiting Wells, The Bishop’s Palace is well worth a stop, but the real highlight here is what's outside. The 14 acres of grounds are gorgeous, peaceful, and beautifully kept. Strolling past the clear spring pools, exploring the Great Hall ruins, and watching the iconic swans on the moat made the trip for us. It’s super dog-friendly and a great place to unwind on a nice day. The palace interior itself is historically interesting, but fairly modest and over quite quickly. If you're expecting vast, fully furnished stately rooms, you might feel the ticket price is a bit steep. There’s also no direct parking, so expect a short walk from the town car parks. Bottom line: Come for the stunning gardens and lovely views of the cathedral, just treat the indoor tour as a quick bonus!

Gorgeous gardens for wandering around in. Reasonably priced. Preferred the gardens myself- easily can spend hours in the gardens. Lovely sculptures throughout. Parking needs be done at distance but cute town to talk through.

What a stunning Bishop's Palace and Grounds with a moat! 100 percent worth a visit! We met a lovely gentleman as we entered and he gave us a very informative and interesting talk about it's history. The grounds are amazing and the size of the trees are incredible! There is a cafe inside where you can have food and drinks. lovely day out.

It makes me feel special with the bright colours of the beautiful fresh flowers 🌹🏵🌼🌷⚘🌲🪴 and fresh running water💧 on my personal walk around today I found a red rose that looked like a dog it is definitely a beautiful picture. I have collected some personal parts of my garden walk I made it into a collage it is a souvenir to show that flowers nature and Growth is a part of Us. I absolutely loved the little water park complain with the fresh running water collected from the Wells the sunshine Blooms through the flowers and shows the glowing reflection of the water around the pond and Lakes you can come here to take reflection of life or if you feel upset you can have the pleasure of looking at Nature showing that we are all human I also enjoyed playing Pokémon Go here. 🚶‍♂️ This is also one of the highlights of my favourite scenes in Hot Fuzz 🔥 where the monk statue is situated the Neiborhood watch meeting scene at night.
