About The White Hart Wells

The White Hart has operated as a coaching inn on Sadler Street for over five hundred years, and today combines its historic bones with a relaxed, dog-friendly approach to hospitality. It sits a two-minute walk from Cathedral Green and the Bishop's Palace, making it one of the most central options in Wells.

Its fifteen en suite bedrooms are set around a cobbled courtyard, with king and super-king beds and a mix of traditional and contemporary decor, while the ground-floor pub and restaurant serve food throughout the day and welcome dogs in the bar area.

Families are catered for with a children's menu and activities until early evening, making the White Hart a practical, unpretentious base for exploring the cathedral and Market Place on foot.

Stayed here for two nights, sat / sun. Room was a superior Double, absolutely fabulous!! Spotless room and bathroom, bed was king size and so comfortable. Tea /coffee hot chocolate and biscuits available in the room, replaced both days. Breakfast was great too . Loved the pub, loads of different beer/ales. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Location of the hotel was right in the centre of wells, right opposite the cathedral. Will definitely be going back!!! Thank you!!

I have had the pleasure of staying at The White Hart on a few occasions. The rooms are very nice and comfortable, and considering they are above/attached to a pub, surprisingly quiet! The staff have always been super lovely, and I can definitely recommend staying for breakfast.

Had a lovely time staying here over a weekend while in town for a wedding. Pub was lively, room was very comfortable, and the hearty cooked breakfasts were very much appreciated. Thanks for a great stay!

We stayed for one night while visiting Wells and we can highly recommend it. The room (no14) was away from the pub (so no noise), a really good size and spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable and we had a good stay. But what made it was the staff. Everyone we spoke to was very knowledgeable, friendly and keen to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. The rate was very competitive and we would definitely stay there again.
