About Maesbury Meadows

Luxury glamping in the Mendip Hills, anyone? Off-grid Maesbury Meadows is based on a family farm 10 minutes' drive from the ancient city of Wells in Somerset. Here the comfy accommodation is in spacious bell tents, each well-furnished with a proper double bed and sofa bed (handy for the kids, all bed linen provided), storage space, heating and a kitchen corner for prepping easy camping meals.

You'll wake to the dawn chorus, look out over lush hills as you get the coffee on, and drift off under a canopy of glittering stars. Barbecues are provided for alfresco feasts, or warm pizzas through in the oven built into your woodburning stove. Alternatively, swerve cooking altogether and make a beeline for the on-site brewery or bistro. With massages and a fitness centre also available, there's more pampering on offer than you might expect from a tiny, remote farm site.

The historic market town of Shepton Mallet is 10 minutes' drive for supplies, and country walks around the farm and nearby cycling routes keep active types happy.
