What visitors say
We have stayed here a few times before and it never disappoints. They are making a lot of improvements at the minute around the site which is great to see. Facilities are great here and we have booked to come back already. Kielder in general is our favourite place on this earth so to have somewhere decently priced to stay for 1 or 2 nights in between us staying at the lodges there is just perfect.

The location is good for walks and cycle routes around Kielder although at the time we stayed the diversions getting to kielder left us frustrated but that is not the sites fault. From the point of view of relaxed atmosphere I was very disappointed with the level of noise from pitches after 11pm. People flying around the site on electric scooters with no regard for common sense where children were playing and vehicles ignoring speed limits. We have stayed before and even though the site has expanded I won't be returning. The shower /toilet block is very dated and could do with regular cleaning. SUCH A SHAME.

I never leave negative reviews but I feel I really need to… About 10 years ago, we used to visit this caravan site all the time. It was one of our all time favorites. Returned this weekend for two nights for a trip down memory lane and WOW what a disappointment. Lodges have now been built on what was a huge part of the caravan site. And the trees are all down - I do realize however, that this was due to storm damage. The site is unstaffed and just looks like a huge car park. The road through the site, where the caravans in the L area are located, is a through road for the lodges. It’s WAY too busy and no signs are up requesting for drivers to keep speeds down. Cars are flying up and down whilst caravan kids are out playing. Electric scooters moving through at an insane speed too! Finally, the site is £45 per night which is hugely overpriced. Needless to say, we will sadly not be returning!

Very scenic location for a caravan site. The place has plenty of activities, especially watersports. Lots of trails for walking and biking. A great place to take a family on holiday. There is a bar and restaurant, dog friendly, that is reasonably priced for a holiday park. We ate there and the food was very good. The caravan park itself? Not the greatest we've stayed at. The pitches are far from level, and you would be advised to bring chocks/ blocks, basically anything you can use to level your caravan. Ours was 2ft off the floor at the back, lucky we had lots of timber blocks to use. The toilet block wasn't the greatest either. Toilets were blocked with toilet roll, floors very wet, unsure what with. The showers work very well, but there's not much room for your clothes and towels. My trainers ended up saturated. And there's a strong smell of pee around the place. The worst thing however was the fact that on the night we arrived, by 9 o'clock, the ladies toilet and shower block was locked. There is a code to unlock it, but no one at reception knows what it is. My wife had to phone reception the next morning, and still it took an hour and a half to rectify the problem. So the ladies facilities were unavailable for over 12 hours. Totally unacceptable, especially for £40 a night. There were people here in campervans, with no toilet. We are going to complain once we get home, as it is unfair to have paid full price to get a full night with no toilet or shower. Should also mention the midges, but that is not the fault of the park, and they do give you fair warning. There are millions of them and I was bitten hundreds of times. Come prepared, or suffer. Overall, a lovely place. But not the greatest toilet and shower facilities, or customer service.
