Aira Cottage

Aira Cottage sits where the Westmorland landscape opens to water and high ground. A river runs through woods at the front of the property, crossed by a packhorse bridge, and Ullswater lies just across the fields beyond. The fells rise dramatically in the distance. For walkers, the terrain starts at your door—National Trust land spreads across the valley, with Helvellyn and its Striding Edge within reach of a morning's hike. Glenridding is three miles away; Pooley Bridge, six miles, is where you can board the steamer. Fishing is available on the lake.

The cottage sleeps six across three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Downstairs, the living room has a TV and DVD player, a separate dining room, and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking. Upstairs are the bedrooms: one double with an ensuite shower, and two rooms with single beds. The utility room holds a washing machine and tumble dryer. An enclosed garden with patio and furniture opens from the house, and there's ample parking on site. One dog can stay free. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are covered; wifi is available throughout. A pub and restaurant are nearby at one and a half miles. The property is non-smoking.
