Hallin Bank - The Farmhouse at Hallin Bank

The Farmhouse at Hallin Bank comes thoroughly equipped for a self-catering stay. The kitchen has an electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher and fridge; the utility room contains a washing machine; and two woodburning stoves warm the living and dining rooms. Electricity, bed linen and towels are included. The three bedrooms sleep six: a zip-and-link super kingsize (divisible into singles), a double, and a twin. There is one bathroom with a shower cubicle.

This 17th-century farmhouse stands on eleven acres at the end of a secluded road in Martindale, with an enclosed garden, terrace and sitting-out area, plus parking for one car. One pet stays free. The property is yours alone, and you can arrive after 4pm. The grounds have natural slopes and steep drops, and three steps lead into the garden. Water comes from a spring supply.

Martindale is remote—a valley overlooking Ullswater where red deer roam and walking routes climb Hallin Fell and High Street. A short walk reaches the lake itself. Non-smokers only.
