Delmonte suits families and larger groups wanting a self-contained base in rural Westmorland. The three bedrooms—two with king beds and one with a double-and-single bunk—sleep seven, and there's one bathroom with bath and shower. Everything is on the ground floor, with step-free access to the entrance, though there is a step down into the garden.
The kitchen has an electric cooker, microwave and fridge-freezer, so you can prepare proper meals. The living room has a smart TV and electric fire; the utility room contains a washing machine. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and electricity are all included. Out front, there's a private hot tub, patio and seating area, plus parking for three cars. One dog is welcome if kept on a lead—the surrounding fields are sheep country. The cottage doesn't permit smoking.
From the elevated position just outside Langwathby, you get views across the village towards the Lake District peaks. The location puts you between three major landscapes: the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales National Park and the North Pennines. Penrith, Alston and Ullswater are all within fifteen miles, and Hadrian's Wall lies twenty miles away. The local pub is a quarter-mile away, and Langwathby's train station—on the Carlisle to Settle line—is the same distance.
