Doddick Farm Cottages - Danika East

Danika East sits on a sheep and beef farm near Threlkeld, surrounded by the Lake District fells. This is a single ground-floor space that combines living area and kitchen, a separate bedroom with a double bed, and a shower room. Everything you need for a night or two is here: wi-fi, heating, bed linen and towels included, plus parking for one car on site. A small dog can come with you, though they'll need to stay on a lead in sheep country.

The cottage works well as a base for fell walking and cycling—routes of varying difficulty start from the farm itself. Scales village, with a couple of pubs serving food, lies about a mile away. Keswick is five miles north, offering restaurants, shops and attractions like the Pencil Museum and Theatre by the Lake on Derwentwater. The A66 connects Penrith and Keswick nearby, making onward travel straightforward. Smoking is not permitted indoors.
