Netherend
Westmorland and Furness
Keswick lies at the heart of the northern Lakes, surrounded by dramatic fells and water. Netherend sits in quieter countryside beyond the town itself—a converted barn with stone walls, oak beams and two wood-burning stoves that give it genuine character. The enclosed garden looks out towards Blencathra, and on-the-doorstep footpaths lead directly into the surrounding hills and valleys. Derwentwater is close enough for an afternoon's walk, and Borrowdale opens up to the south.
The four bedrooms sleep ten across two floors. Ground level holds a double and a pair of single beds, plus a kitchen with a full range of appliances for cooking from scratch. Upstairs, a galleried bedroom has two singles, a fourth bedroom offers a double and two more singles, and both bathrooms include baths with showers. Wifi, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included. Oil heating keeps things warm, and logs for the stoves are available locally. A cot and highchair can be provided on request.
Cyclists find quiet lanes leading in all directions, and Keswick Golf Course is a mile and a half away. The town itself—4½ miles down the road—has shops, restaurants and a leisure centre, though many guests spend their time in the fells instead. Parking for three cars is on site. No smoking throughout. Hen and stag parties are not accepted.
