About Lowside Farm

Lowside Farm sits just outside Troutbeck, at the foot of Blencathra, offering a mix of glamping pods, traditional pitches and an on-site camping barn that's ideal for larger groups. The pods provide a cosy, all-weather option while campers can make use of hot showers, drinking water and WiFi throughout their stay. Dogs are welcome, making it a popular choice for families exploring the fells with four-legged friends in tow.

We enjoyed our stay here! The pods are great, they have a sofa, kitchen area, bed and bathroom all rolled into one. The place was nice and clean. The only thing I will say is if you're looking for a quiet time, there is a road right nearby which isn't the camp's fault, but just be aware if you're expecting quiet. If that doesn't bother you then great, I'd highly recommend!

This is a hidden gem. We stayed in one of the camping pods, which are a great place to be in. The location is great for hikers as there are loads of Wainwrights nearby. Highly recommend. We will be back. And we are back!!

Just arrived back home after a week at lowside farm, we stayed in Coombe beck pod. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the pods are cosy and well heated due to underfloor heating, they are compact but have everything you need for a comfortable stay, shower is warm and spacious, hot water from tap is boiling, could probably have made a tea with it (they have put signs up for this but be warned) View from the pods is fantastic with gorgeous sunrises every morning. Many reviews have commented on the proximity of the A66 to the pods, yes the road noise is a consistent drone but not something that bothered me or my wife, in the summer if you had to have windows open I could see it being somewhat annoying. The only slight negative is the sensor on the bathroom light is a bit weird, it would come on in the night when no one was in the bathroom, either it's a bit faulty or a ghost was having a poo. Gravel path to pod isn't that steep so not really a problem. Overall great break would definitely stay again 😁

Spent 4 fantastic days in the Lake District and Lowisde Farm was a great choice. The pods are cozy and well-equipped with everything you may need for comfotable stay. The location is great, close to most of the must places to visit and some wonderful hikes. The pods are surrounded by beautiful farmland and stunning landscape. Definitely recommended for a relaxing getaway!
