Ambleside is the gateway to some of the Lake District's most popular walking country, with Wansfell and Red Screes immediately accessible. The town itself spreads across the valley floor with independent shops, cafes and restaurants, and the bus station connects you to Windermere, Grasmere, Keswick and the Coniston valley. Eskdale sits just above this bustle, on the grounds of what was once the Kirkstone Foot Hotel.
The apartment is a single-storey, self-contained space sleeping two, with a double bedroom and ensuite bathroom. There is a separate living and dining area with a television and DVD player. The kitchen has everything needed for self-catering: oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included. One car can park on site. The walk down into Ambleside takes less than five minutes, though the path is steep.
St Anne's Chapel is within reach, and there is a pub within a mile. The property does not permit smoking. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
