What guests say
Wonderful short break here. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Facilities; pool, gym were very clean, modern & peaceful. Our room, (club), was very spacious and decor was lovely. Nice balcony and hot tub overlooking the stream below. Breakfast was great with lots of choice. Would definitely return. Right in the heart of Ambleside and close to shops. Short walk to ferry.

We were really impressed with the service received at this hotel. The reception staff were very pleasant, helpful and welcoming. Manuel and the breakfast team were also fantastic, especially with our 8 month old pup. They made a huge fuss of him, and even gave him sausages for breakfast! The hotel is really nice downstairs, as is the spa. The room was a bit dated (dog friendly double with balcony), but a reasonable size. It had the added advantage of having a whirlpool bath which was unexpected. Be aware that the balcony’s are not fully enclosed, therefore we had to keep our dog on a lead as he could stray between the open balcony partitions. Likely not an issue for older dogs though. Sadly we had to leave a day early, but the hotel were very understanding and offered to cancel the cost of the last nights stay. They would have been well within their rights to charge us. Fantastic service and extremely dog friendly. For that alone we will definitely stay here again!

Fantastic location: so central whether you're on foot, travelling by bus (great service) or by car. The staff are so welcoming: ready smile, ready to give information/suggestions, ready for just a chat even when they're busy which is a sign of good, caring hospitality and good, thoughtful training. Excellent breakfast.
