Ghyll Foot Cottage
Westmorland and Furness
Ainstable sits in the Eden Valley between the Lake District and the Pennines, making it a natural base for exploring a region rich in walking, history and scenery. The village itself has a pub and restaurant within walking distance, while the larger towns of Penrith and Carlisle—each with castles, museums and shopping—are about 10 miles away. For a different kind of journey, the Carlisle-Settle railway line passes through nearby Armathwaite, famous for its dramatic landscape views.
Ghyll Foot Cottage is a 200-year-old semi-detached house that retains period details like the inglenook fireplace and exposed beams, balanced by a contemporary kitchen and bathroom. The ground floor has a living room with woodburner and a kitchen/dining room with a full range of appliances; upstairs are two bedrooms (one double, one twin) and a bathroom. The cottage sleeps four and takes one pet at no extra cost. An enclosed garden with patio provides outdoor space, and essentials like electricity, heating, bed linen and wifi are included. There are steep spiral stairs inside the property.
