Greenbank House spreads across three connected annexes in Skelwith Bridge, a hamlet just outside Ambleside. You're stepping into a property that handles ten people without anyone feeling cramped: the first annexe contains a king bed and two singles with a shared bathroom; the second holds two singles and a king with ensuite; the third has a king with ensuite, a double, and bunk beds across three rooms with a family bathroom and separate toilet. The ground floor works well for those with mobility concerns, though there are steps down to the patio area and within the garden itself.

Each annexe has its own kitchen and living space, so you could split into smaller groups if needed. The first and third kitchens have a full range cooker and dishwasher; the second is simpler. All have ovens, hobs, microwaves and washing machines. Living areas come with Freeview, and the first and third also have CD players. You'll find bed linen, towels, wifi and heating included. An external games room holds a table tennis table and table football; an enclosed garden with patio and terrace is where children can run around safely while adults settle in with a book.

The River Brathay runs nearby, with walking routes starting from the property. Parking on site takes five cars. Dogs are welcome and stay free. No smoking inside.

Hired the place for a 60th birthday get together with children and grandchildren. Superb facilities. Three kitchens and dining area. Lovely family rooms. Plenty of parking. Couldn't be better for exploring the lakes.

Very nice holiday home with friendly owners. It was very spacious house for our group of eight adults and five kids. We had a great time. The game room was good but it was very cold so couldn't use it much. Not much lawn space around the house however it is a lovely holiday house for a break.

What a stunning location! Came here for a university reunion as a group of nine. Weather was freezing, so we had fab views of the snowy mountains from the lounge. Quiet, tranquil, log burner was super cozy.

Went here with another family for a week. Plenty of space and privacy for all of us. Mattress quality was A+++. The kids loved the garden, and we all thought the ping pong table was surprisingly good fun! Really lovely getaway, will be back next year!
