Herdwick Cottage
Westmorland and Furness
Troutbeck Bridge sits midway between two of Lakeland's most visited towns, making it an ideal base for exploring the region on foot or by car. The valley itself offers high-level walks with views across Windermere, while Ambleside's Roman Fort and Brockhole Visitors Centre are within easy reach. A pub and shop are close by, and the surrounding hills provide the backdrop to this working fell-farming landscape.
Herdwick Cottage is a traditional stone building with two bedrooms and one bathroom, sleeping four. Downstairs, an open-plan living space contains a woodburner, a kitchen equipped for proper cooking, and a dining area. Upstairs are a double bedroom and a twin, along with a shower room. The cottage has a small decked garden at the rear where you can sit out and take in the views. One well-behaved pet is welcome. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are all included; logs for the woodburner can be sourced locally. Note that there are steep spiral stairs within the property, and no smoking is permitted.
