Moonhallow Cottage
Westmorland and Furness
The Lake District draws people for its fells and lakes, but the traditional market towns and villages scattered through Westmorland and Furness have their own appeal—quieter walks, independent shops, and pubs that have stood for centuries. Moonhallow Cottage sits among them: a double-fronted stone building that has been completely refurbished with neutral interiors, exposed brick and carefully chosen furnishings that feel considered rather than cluttered.
Inside are two bedrooms and two bathrooms, arranged for four guests. The cottage comes with essentials covered—electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi—plus a wood burner for colder months. Outside, there is an enclosed garden, a hot tub, and parking on site. A bike store makes it easy to explore the surrounding area on two wheels. The space is yours alone; no shared facilities or other guests. Dogs are welcome, though smoking is not permitted indoors.
The layout suits two couples or a family with older children wanting a long weekend away. From here you can drive to Ambleside or Windermere for the obvious attractions, or stay local and discover smaller valleys, riverside walks, and the kind of pubs that serve proper meals.
