Shaw End Mansion- Apartment 3
Westmorland and Furness

Kendal sits at the threshold of the Lake District, and from Shaw End Mansion you can explore the fells and water within half an hour's drive. The 200-acre grounds here offer immediate alternatives: woodland walks, a river (fishing available in season with a valid licence), and a working farm where you can arrange to visit and feed lambs. The mansion itself dates from 1796 and was redesigned by Francis Webster, the Westmorland architect behind many regional country houses; the conversion into four holiday apartments has preserved period character while providing modern comfort.
Apartment 3 sleeps six across three bedrooms—a double with an ensuite shower, another double, and a twin—plus a second bathroom. The first floor opens onto a living space with a woodburner and Freeview television, a separate dining area, and a kitchen equipped for full self-catering: electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included; a washing machine and freezer are available in a shared utility room. You have private parking for two cars and your own entrance. The grounds are shared with other apartments on-site, and there is an unfenced river approximately 200 yards away in the estate.
