Spring Wood

Spring Wood is a timber-clad pod completed in 2022, one of eight individual units set behind a Georgian coaching inn in Winster Valley near Bowness-on-Windermere. The building draws on country styling—wood panelling, neutral tones, natural materials—but functions as a thoroughly modern retreat. Everything is on one level: open-plan living and kitchen flow into a bedroom with kingsize bed and smart TV, while the ensuite features a walk-in shower with rainfall head and marble-effect tiling. A private terrace overlooks woodland, accessible through French doors from the main living space. Electricity, wifi, bed linen and towels are included; heating keeps the pod warm year-round.

The kitchen handles proper cooking rather than holiday basics. Parking for one car is on site, and there is footpath access to and from the property. One well-behaved dog can stay free; the owners provide a height-adjustable food bowl, quick-drying towel and waste bags. The coaching inn next door serves food and local ales. From here, country walks start immediately, while Bowness-on-Windermere, Ambleside and Grasmere are within 30 minutes' drive. The property does not permit smoking.
