Ten acres of Cumbrian countryside surround The Lodge, a single-storey cottage on the edge of Barrow-in-Furness. The property sits within its own enclosed garden, complete with a private hot tub and seating area, while the owner's house is nearby. Barrow itself is ten minutes away; Ulverston and its Buddhist centre are also close, and the coast lies six miles south.

Everything is on one level. The open-plan living space contains a 50-inch smart TV with Netflix, a sofa bed for a child, and a dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, with an electric oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and air fryer. The bedroom has a super king bed and its own 50-inch TV. The shower room includes a walk-in shower and heated towel rail. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included; a travel cot and highchair are available. The property sleeps three—two adults and one child maximum—and one well-behaved dog is welcome. Smoking is not permitted.

The location suits those wanting to explore the Lake District fringes: Windermere and Coniston are twenty minutes away by car, the South Lakes Safari Zoo is nearby, and Furness Abbey is a short drive. A pub sits a mile down the road.

Awful rooms, their was blood on the bathroom walls, and smelt really bad of rotten eggs, toilets wouldnt flush either. The showers were super grim too. The hotel would be so lovely just feel like the staff don't pride themselves in their work and its very upsetting. Definitely don't recommend:(

Dirty curtains and bedding, holes in the walls and doors. Only got 1 towel to share for 3 people! Room and hall ways smell on the sewers. Toilet makes noises and the shower changes the temp from hot to very cold and very dirty. Single glazed windows with cracks and no heating. Would not recommended staying here!

It wasn't clean... the bathroom was dirty...I could see pubic hair everywhere in the bathroom which is soooo gross. The mattresses were very wobbly and uncomfortable. Pillows were the same.. not comfortable at all. The door was difficult to lock/unlock. There was no way you could open a window.. the system was faulty to keep the windows up. The toilet was smelly. It took a long time after flashing the toilet to be able to flash it again. There were drunk people screaming outside almost the whole night. Also . there's a tower in front of the hotel and the bells ring every hour even during the night...which wakes you or your kids up. Very unpleasant. Definitely not going back there. Didn't rest because of all those reasons. Not worth the money

The rooms were quite small, but the beds itself were comfy. The toilets ruin it: the showers can’t seem to be on a certain temperature, they jump around, whilst the toilet itself stank like the sewer. The location is perfect.
