The flat was what you'd expect for £34 a night but what I don't expect is for there to be cobwebs everywhere and the bathroom to absolutely reek of stale urine. To top it all off this was a last minute booking and the listing on booking.com fails to tell you things such as parking and travel cot hire have to be booked 24 hours in advance. Had we known this we wouldn't have booked or at least brought our own travel cot. I was then told selecting a cot on booking.com isn't enough you have to book and pay extra for it directly through them after booking, something which is not oultined ANYWHERE in the confirmation correspondence we received. Only realised we hadn't got a cot when we turned up, is our baby just supposed to sleep on the floor? They finally said they could sort us a cot for the night, still expected it to be paid for despite all the inconvenience and having to call them 3 times, and it's now 8pm and we still have no cot. Awful service and this isn't worth a tenner for the night never mind £34.

Booked this place through booking.com. Cost just over 100 for 1 x weekend night in February. We got pretty much exactly what it said on the tin. A small apartment with a few creature comforts (kettle, microwave, fridge etc) to boot. The nearest car park was silver Street car park (silver Street is a 1 way street, so don't let your sat nav catch you out) which was a small car park, enough for maybe 30 to 40 cars. It wasn't tarmac or concrete, it was just rough uneven ground. It was a coin only paying machine - unless you have the parking app 'justpark', where you can pay online. Good luck with that tho, cause there's really bad Internet reception where it is. The location itself was very close to whitby centre, so it had that going for it. Anyway, we found our apartment which was just a short walk away and the entrance was on Clarkson street. Easy enough to find. The apartment itself was a little dated, and could do with a good clean to get rid of the cobwebs that were hanging about the place. Apart from that, there was 4 rooms, not including the entrance hall. There was a bathroom, a lounge, a bedroom and a kitchen. There was minimal furniture in all the rooms, but enough to get by. The lounge window had a fantastic view of the abbey too - bonus! The place was warm as we got there as the heaters were programmed to get the place to 21 degrees. Nice touch. There were fresh towels left ready for us to use too. All bedding was neatly made and the bed was comfortable enough for just the 1 nights stay - any more and it would have given me problems. The kitchen had the basics in it, cutlery, plates, cups etc and stuff provided for a cuppa or two whilst we were there. All in all, it was OK for us to use as a base. Would I stay again? I dunno - maybe. 🤷

I stayed in the discovery Cottage. The living room and kitchen is a mess, the fridge didn't work and the kettel wasn't working properly. And rug is a mess and needs to be put in the bin. The fire place couldn't be plugged in as no plug socket. As well as the WiFi not working. As for the bedroom they are not clean along with the full Cottage. half of the lights don't work. And for the bathroom the hot and cold tap is on the wrong way round. After a horrendous stay they also taken an extra £100 out of my bank account without my knowledge or a reason to as why it was taken out. I want my £100 back and a part of a refund to what I payed for the say. Never booking here again. Stay away. Miss leading with the booking description and photos.
