About The Granby hotel
Whitby's mix of harbour views, clifftop abbey and coastal walks makes it a popular base on the North Yorkshire coast, and The Granby hotel puts guests on Skinner Street within easy reach of it all. This is traditional accommodation attached to a pub, with parking available for those arriving by car.
Rooms are en-suite, with family rooms available for those travelling with children, and each has drinks provided. Breakfast is included, and the on-site restaurant and bar serve homemade food throughout the day, with the steak pie, fish and chips, and Sunday roast the dishes most often singled out, all at fair prices, though portions can run on the smaller side. The atmosphere is cosy and dog-friendly, with staff noted for being friendly and welcoming, and kids' meals are available for younger guests. Free WiFi, luggage storage and 24 hour reception cover the practical side of a stay.
Beyond the front door, Whitby offers walking and cycling routes, fishing, golf and watersports nearby, along with further pubs and restaurants dotted around the town. Whitby Abbey and the coast are both within easy reach, making The Granby a straightforward, comfortable option for exploring the area.

Incredible. The staff and ownership are simple great folks. We stopped in for a pint when we arrived and were blown away with the hospitality. We came back for the Sunday Lunch. Freaking amazing food with outstanding flavor and care of presentation and preparation. Claire, Steve and their staff are a true inspiration of caring for others. Simply a go to place for a true pub experience. All of this at very accommodating prices. Simply a good place.

This is a great pub, with fantastic food and very friendly staff. It's also doggo friendly and well worth a visit (which we did so 3 x times during our stay in Whitby).

We tried here for lunch for the first time on 15th April and the food was fantastic. We had the lasagna (homemade, cheesy, loads of flavour and a decent portion) and the mixed grill. Both dishes were top quality and very good value for money. The kids menu was also very good quality and fair value. Would definitely try again if we go to Whitby.

We were staying in Whitby a couple of weeks ago. Had a meal in the Granby and were so impressed we went again the following night. Second night had one of the best home made steak pies I have ever had in a pub.

Diners like this pub's delicious, homemade food, especially the steak pie, fish and chips, and Sunday roast, which are offered at reasonable prices. They also highlight the friendly and welcoming staff, the cozy atmosphere, and the dog-friendly environment.
Some reviews mention the portions can be small.
