What diners say
Edit: I couldn’t write a completely new review so I’m adding to this one from 8 months ago. I came here on Sunday 2nd August, and had the most delicious belly pork roast dinner. Everything was extremely tasty and well cooked. My only tiny complaint is that the roast potatoes, though they tasted nice, were not crispy. Everything on my plate was really nice, well cooked, seasoned and piping hot with lots of gravy. I also overhead a really lovely conversation between a female bar staff and two men who seemed to be regulars. Next time I fancy a roast, I know where to go. We went for a nice lunch here last Monday after our original choice of restaurant was unexpectedly closed. So pleased that happened as we had some really delicious food with excellent service. I ordered the sausage and mash with a lovely gravy and my friend had the smoked haddock fish cake and chips. My food was piping hot and by the time I got to the third sausage, it was still very hot which was good. I asked for extra gravy which was served in abundance and was really nice.

The team were on hand to assist. Lovely look and feel of a classical meets modern pub. Relaxed outside which is great. The food while it looked good was a bit of a let down. The roast beef was so tough I couldn’t cut through it. The Yorkshire pudding was overdone as well. Potato’s and carrots were literally the only thing I’d say were nice. No cauliflower, has to be ordered as an extra. Kids meal… no chicken and chips as an option but is an option in adults menu. Generous portions but finishing touches made it inedible

Stopped in for a quick drink and had a Peroni. The atmosphere was relaxed and easygoing, and it’s a nice spot to pause if you’re in the area. Service was straightforward and efficient, and the place has a casual, welcoming feel. Nothing over the top, but a solid choice for a simple drink.

We sat upstairs on the terrace and were hungry but wasn’t sure if to order food or wait for the pizzas at 5pm, so I asked Alistair at the bar and he said 100% wait for pizza. It was one of the most amazing pizzas I’ve ever had! Alistair also checked with the chef if the dough he was making was ready and let us order early, an amazing place with great staff and unbelievable pizzas

People say this pub offers delicious food, including Sunday roasts, fish and chips, and burgers, with generous portions and a wide selection of beers and wines. They also highlight the warm, lively atmosphere and the friendly, attentive staff who provide excellent service.
Some reviews mention the service can be inefficient.
